Merthyr Tydfil’s college has been subjected to an extensive upgrade in terms of facilities. Rebranded as The College @ Merthyr, the aim of the institution is to develop the town into a state of the art facility with which they can attract new students – putting the town on the map for its fantastic further education facilities.
To carry out this feat, The College commissioned GV Multi-media’s Exeter team to integrate a wealth of impressive AV equipment into their multi-million pound brand new building – providing a showcase facility in the process.
Account Manager Richard Godfrey managed the project and has seen The College develop from a dream into a technologically advanced reality. The impressive new build features The Atrium which includes an auditorium style AV system which plays host to a Christie 2K projector (which has been mounted on a scissor lift), a large format screen along with video switching and audio processing products. GV has also integrated equipment into 82 classrooms featuring Epson interactive projector technology.
The project also included a campus-wide Digital Signage rollout along with...Read more
In recent years, Falmouth University has been developing their site at Tremough with the aim of creating a world-class campus. Looking to establish the University among the top five creative institutions in the world, Falmouth University commissioned the creation of a brand new facility known as AIR – The Academy of Innovation and Research.
GV Multi-media’s input resulted in the creation of a completely bespoke, networked solution that facilitates collaborative working within AIR as well as away from the site. The building houses businesses as well as research and PhD students looking develop the county of Cornwall into one of the most technologically advanced areas of the UK. Not only is AIR future-proof, it’s technologically rich enough to lead the way for technological innovation.
Situated on the ground floor of the building, the technologically rich Sandpit is a suite designed for flexible team collaboration. Falmouth University required five stations that would not only accommodate intuitive input but could also communicate with the other screens in the room as well as those elsewhere in the...
Aberystwyth University has two campuses – Penglais and Llanbadarn in addition to buildings throughout the town itself. As the smaller and more remote of the two campuses, Llanbadarn is host to far less activity than Penglais – generally being used for Equine Studies and examinations. In an effort to draw more students to the campus and the University in general, Aberystwyth University decided to reboot the campus.
The extensive project saw Technical Projects Manager Matthew Price and his team integrate equipment into 29 teaching spaces across the campus. The project saw the installation equipment into a variety of spaces including video conferencing facilities, large lecture theatres, collaborative teaching spaces, IT teaching rooms and seminar rooms. The buildings included as part of the project are Rheidol, Elystyn Morgan, the T1 Lecture Theatre and Padarn building – the latter having been fitted with a triple projection system within its large lecture theatre.
The University of Exeter has taken on a vast project to revamp a large section of their Streatham Campus. Forum has seen the construction of a stunning renovation to the heart of Exeter’s University. Forum also plays host to new retail and catering outlets as well as a new library. The site features a new student services centre and new learning spaces including a 400-seat auditorium. Having changed the skyline of Exeter and offering students a host of activities, the Forum project has turned the University’s Streatham campus into one of the most impressive student environments in the country both in terms of aesthetics and in terms of function.
Sir Robert McAlpine commissioned GV Multi-media Ltd for the challenging task of providing and integrating the vast AV system into Forum. GV’s input into the project has been of paramount importance in bringing Forum to life. It is a major project for both the University and for GV Multi-media that is as breathtaking technically as it is visually.
The 404-seat Alumni Auditorium has been perfectly designed for presentation of visual and audio content in a way that...
Middlesex University undertook a consolidation process to bring all their UK based teaching and learning to a single campus in Hendon. Part of their multi-phased works saw the creation of their Grove complex that is now the home for their Art, Design and Media students.
The Grove is an ambitious development spanning three buildings, consisting of flexible teaching spaces from workshops to digital media studios. GV Multi-media had to create systems that were flexible and robust for over 78 teaching and meeting spaces. We also were tasked to provide a 4x4 video wall, a design solution into their multi-functional space.
36 Category C Teaching Rooms
These systems provided HD Projection from Hitachi, optical white glass boards and screens from TK Team, analogue and digital scaled switching and from Kramer, Sony Blu-ray disc players, Kramer HDMI to Cat6 transmitter receivers, Denon audio amplification, Phonic mixing, JBL speakers, Sennheiser I/R radiators, and Audio Technica microphones. All products are housed in the latest MKII Teammate design with customisation to suit the client. On the worktop...Read more

We take a very strong stance in the management of our projects, micro-managing every facet of our installations to completion.
Our project managers are Prince2 trained and are able to fit into a Prince2 based project structure. They also all hold in excess of three years of AV system project management through a range of installation projects within and outside of building works/refurbishments and therefore have a strong insight into the timelines, procedures and processes involved.
Using the principles within this structure, we are able to fit the concepts to an AV installation project in order to successfully bring in the completed project on time and on budget.
Our programmers are certified and proficient in all major control system programming formats. This means you will be able to operate even the most complex of AV systems with intuitive simplicity.
With a carefully designed and implemented control solution, we can help to guarantee a user experience that is simple and straightforward no matter the complexity of the equipment behind it and maintain this experience across systems.
In addition, we can offer building/campus/enterprise-wide management and monitoring solutions including energy management, room bookings and remote support facilities to streamline reporting and usage tracking.
Through these systems it is possible to promote and support a more proactive support mechanism through fault reporting via "hot lists" at the helpdesk software level for such issues as impending lamp failure, equipment failure/loss and theft.

Panasonic's new ultra-short-throw lens ET-DLE030 enables large-screen projection from a short distance. Applications greatly expand for digital signage in show windows, stores, train stations, and other locations.
By mounting the newly developed ET-DLE030 ultra-short-throw lens onto Panasonic's 1-chip DLP™ projector*, you can shorten the projection distance by approximately 60 % compared with our ET-DLE085 and ET-DLE080 short throw lenses. This huge savings in space lets you project images in spots where you previously could not—such as places where the ceiling is too high, or where there is not enough front or rear space for projecting.Read more
The visualiser/document camera is a COST-EFFECTIVE, TIME-SAVING, and EASY-TO-USE ICT (Information & Communication Technologies) tool. If you’re looking for top performance from your projectors, with the Casio Laser & LED hybrid light source there’s no need to compromise. Conventional lamps decline in brightness over time, reaching just 50% of their original brightness at the end of their stated lifetime.
This means that lamp-based projectors only perform to their maximum technical specification for a fraction of their product lifecycle. More importantly, it means that users may struggle to view the projected display as it becomes dimmer over time.
Enjoy great performance and flexibility, with the confidence you are saving the environment and your budget. The new M Series by NEC include advanced Eco features without compromising on quality and flexibility.
With an impressive range of standard, wide and short throw models and various brightness levels, suitable for a wide range of projection applications, M Series projectors incorporate new NEC innovations such as 75% AV Mute, Dynamic Eco Mode and longer lamp life support as well as all the advanced connectivity and functionality you can expect for today and tomorrow
The entry level M260X is particularly suited to classrooms and small to medium sized meeting rooms, whilst the high brightness M420X with it’s 4200 ANSI Lumen output is ideal for even mid to large size conference rooms. The wide models are ideal for displaying wider Powerpoint presentations and today’s video media in its native format and the short throw models provide a flexible value short throw solution with virtually no glare and shadow, ideal for classroom environments.
NEC M Series like other NEC Projector ranges are also available with special warranty packages and mounting solutions dedicated to education.Read more
